Louise writes: Hugo Frosch are a German company who make a wide range of hot water bottles (Wärmflaschen) and covers to liven them up a bit. We were lucky enough to review their Classic velvet covered hot water bottle in Leopard and their hot water bottle with heart velour covering, but these are just a couple of the wide range of hot water bottles they have available – everything from basic and functional, to faux fur, Christmas jumper style reindeer knits and Marilyn Monroe prints! They also make a fun range specifically aimed at kids which include a fantastic and very fashionable owl hot water bottle, covers with applique animals and some lovely looking fleecey ones with animals on them – they look super-cosy!
When ours arrived, they were immediately taken ownership of by my children who divvied them up without me having much say in the matter. Iris took the leopard print and Felix the heart. They have never had hot water bottles and their rooms are warm enough to not really need them so I assumed it was just a bit of a novelty but they really loved them and took them to bed every night for quite some time. They have definitely decided the hot water bottles belong to them, which is a bit of a pain as I rather like them myself!
When I finally got a look in, I am pleased to say they are really nice items – well made and really snuggly. They fill well and disperse heat properly – not too scalding but not lukewarm. They are made of made ??of high quality thermoplastic PVC which when compared to traditional rubber bottles odorless, recyclable and also very durable, so not only do they look good, they are made of good stuff! As well as this they all come with a two years warranty for leaks which is a reassurance.
Fairly priced too, these really are a great buy!
