Our programme will contrast old and new settings of familiar Advent and Christmas texts, showcasing trusted favourites alongside less familiar settings by a wide range of composers. Featuring Poulenc’s Four Christmas Motets, inspired by four scenes from the Nativity story, paired with settings of the same texts by Palestrina, whose 500th anniversary we celebrate this year.
