We’ve reviewed a few things from Hugo Frosch before and I’ve always been really impressed with the quality of their hot water bottles. Unfortunately, so has my daughter Iris who has managed to steal every one of them from me and build up a little stash of them under her bed, much as she does with both of her brothers’ cuddly toys. When this adorable owl hot water bottle arrived I was determined not to let it fall foul of the same fate. Okay, so it is technically a junior hot water bottle but it’s suitable for adult too…right?
The hot water bottle itself is the same high quality as you would expect from such a well-established brand- the water is stored in what seems more like a flask than a traditional bottle and doesn’t feel like there’s the possibility of it exploding/leaking, which is what I remember from childhood hot water bottles! It warms nicely and stays hot for a long time, and the lovely jersey cover seems to make it extra snuggly. The hot water bottles are also free of Free of plasticizer and PVC, eco-friendly because of their design and efficient production process, and have a patented safety fastener – all fantastic bonuses you might not usually consider when buying a hot water bottle.
The owl cover is really what sells it though. Very on-trend (she says, not actually knowing anything about trends) and super cute, it really appeals to children and adults alike. I feel like it could easily be a part of a room’s decor rather than an accessory to be hidden away… unfortunately, so does Iris, so mine has to stay out of her clutches!
